PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi Yojana
The PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi Scheme, launched in 2019 by the Government of India, offers financial assistance of ₹6,000 per year to eligible farmers in three equal installments of ₹2,000 each.
The funds are transferred directly to farmers’ bank accounts via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
As of now, 19 installments have been released, and farmers across India are eagerly awaiting the 20th installment in 2025.
When Will PM-KISAN 20th Installment Be Released?
Last Installment Date:
- 19th installment was released on February 24, 2025, during an official event in Bihar.

Eligibility Criteria for PM-KISAN
To receive the ₹2,000 installment, PM Kisan ₹2000 payment update, farmers must fulfill the following:
Basic Eligibility:
- Be an Indian citizen
- Own cultivable land
- Have a valid Aadhaar-linked bank account
Who Is NOT Eligible:
- Institutional landholders
- Income tax payers in the last assessment year
- Retired government employees (pension > ₹10,000/month)
- Professionals (doctors, lawyers, engineers)
- Former and current ministers or MPs/MLAs
e-KYC: Mandatory for the 20th Installment
To get the upcoming installment, e-KYC is mandatory. If not completed, you won’t receive the funds.
Steps to Complete e-KYC:
- Visit pmkisan.gov.in
- Click on “e-KYC” under Farmer Corner
- Enter Aadhaar number
- Verify OTP received on your linked mobile
- For biometric KYC, visit a nearby CSC center
Deadline for e-KYC was extended till July 15, 2025, but should be done ASAP to avoid missing the installment.
Bank Account & Aadhaar Linking
Ensure the following to receive your ₹2,000 installment:
- Aadhaar must be linked to your bank account
- IFSC code, account number, and name must match exactly with Aadhaar
- Update any errors at the nearest bank branch or CSC center
If there’s a mismatch, your installment may get stuck in “FTO (Fund Transfer Order) pending” status.
Farmer Registry Update – New Mandatory Rule
Starting from the 20th installment, the government has made Farmer Registry mandatory. This is being enforced to:
- Curb fake beneficiaries
- Maintain updated records of landholding farmers
- Ensure land ownership verification
How to Complete Farmer Registry:
- Visit local agriculture office or CSC
- Carry: Aadhaar, land records, bank passbook
- Fill Farmer Registration form with updated land & Aadhaar details
Without Farmer Registry, your PM-KISAN benefits may be halted.
